What is Black Obsidian?
Black Obsidian is a igneous rock, a naturally occuring volcanic glass which is formed when felsic lava extrudes from a volcano and rapidly cools with minimal cyrstal growth. It is also known as Glass Agate, Volcanic Glass, Glassy Lava, and Royal Agate.
Healing Properties?
Black Obsidian is said to be the Stone of Truth, as well as Strength and Protection. It also is used for communication with the spiritual plane, for example using a Black Obsidian Mirror for scrying.
For use in healing it is said that Black Obsidian is a stone that offers Protection, as a cleanser of psychic smog and the ability shield against negativities. With this stones strong connection to the Root Chakra it helps with grounding and pushing excess energy down.
